Tally-ho is the traditional cry made by the huntsman to tell others the quarry has been sighted. Dating from around 1882 it is probably derived from the French "taiaut", a cry used to excite hounds when hunting deer. Taiaut may have originated in the second half of the 13th century by the concatenation of a two-word war-cry “taille haut" - the original meaning approximates to 'swords up'.
The word “Tallio” is used on the logo of the Sinnington Hunt, which is one of the oldest Hunts in the United Kingdom.

Pinfold (or Pound)
Both terms are Saxon in origin meaning an enclosure. Pinfold tends to be used in the North of England whilst Pound is used in the South.
Built of brick or stone they were a feature of most medieval villages, used to hold stray animals until they were reclaimed by their owners, usually on payment of a fine.
The person in charge of the Pinfold was the “pinder”, hence the surname Pinder

The Parr family were influential in the late Tudor period.
Sir Thomas was a close companion of Henry VIII and his wife close to Catherine of Aragon. Their daughter, Catherine, was married four times.
Her second husband was John Neville, 3rd Baron Latimer who in addition to many other estates held the Manor of Sinnington. However, with many large houses and castles it is unlikely that they ever lived in Sinnington.

In medieval times goods were transported from village to village by horse, hence Packhorse.
In order to cross streams and becks simple narrow bridges were built with low parapets to avoid obstructing the sidebags or panniers on the horse. The small bridge on the village green in Sinnington may be classed as a Packhorse Bridge but the parapets which it used to have do seem to have been rather high.
